IKO stands for: International Karate Organisation; there are two branches of the IKO in New Zealand.

1. McCallum Shihan Branch based in Wellington

2. Takiwa Shihan Branch based in Auckland

Both branches have a strong working relationship and share the Annual National Junior/Novice and Senior tournaments.
